Wood's secrets

Warm, resistant, natural and cosy. Wood is an extraordinary material, which adapts itself to any house and makes it special. 

Whatever style you want to give to the place where you work or live, the wood will be able of enhancing it,  of making your rooms be unique, either if they are refined or simple, country or ethnic style, classical or modern.

Using wood means to have the possibility of choosing among a variety of essences and nuances, in order to obtain an always original result.
Wood is a living material: each single tree is unique as regards the look of its grain, in the texture of its fibres and in its colour shades.

The choice of the type of wood is certainly linked to aesthetic considerations (fair or dark shade, kind of texture), but it also determines the functionality of each product: airtight and wind proof, thermal and acoustic insulation, resistance to sudden weather and thermal changes, to sun and ultraviolet rays, to biodegradability, etc.

A variety of wood types exists, each of them has its own characteristics and is suitable for special uses.

The types of wood which are the most suitable for windows and shuttering systems are:

  • Red Fir; 
  • Chestnut;
  • Chestnut;
  • Douglas;
  • Hemlock
  • Iroko; 
  • Larch; 
  • Meranti; 
  • Oak; 
  • Pine.

Those which are on the contrary the most suitable for doors and furniture are:

  • Cherry-tree;
  • Chestnut;
  • Oak;
  • Tanganika walnut;
  • National walnut.

For ornamental doors and furniture it is also possible to use briarwoods.

The latter are obtained by softly processing tree bulges. Thanks to the irregular distribution of fibres, they are unique as regards their colour and pattern. That is why they are used for coating really precious furniture and furnishings.
